Boat details and specifications

Your yacht at a glance

A Tiki 30 has, for a thirty foot boat, a huge amount of usable deck space, giving her the feel of a much larger yacht . Her rig is the famed Wharram Softwing rig. Robust and easy to handle this rig delivers excellent performance on all points of sail. The jib is roller reefed and a gennaker with snuffer is part of the standard sail inventory. Mechanical propulsion is provided by a Tohatsu 9.8 HP outboard with manual start. The 80ltr fuel capacity is sufficient for about 40 hours motoring at cruising speed.

Steering is by tiller, an autopilot is available as an optional extra. The boat has 180lt fresh water capacity. The fresh water is manual by hand pump. A very efficient 50lt fridge keeps those precious beers cold and a cooler is provided to put ice and extras.
The total of 200 amp battery capacity is kept charged by solar panels as well as a seperate Honda 1000w generator for emergency power.
A GPS helps let you know where you and the depthsounder will help you venture in shallow waters. The boat has it's own cell phone so it's easy to stay in touch with base at all times. For entertainment there is a CD player and  2x150w speakers with a port for Ipod. The tender is an 8ft lightweight RIB dinghy and to get ashore either row or transfer the Tohatsu 9.8 HP over from the yacht.

Taboo Bareboat Charter Tahiti

Tiki 30 catamaran: thirty feet is all you need

The best and cheapest way to explore the blue lagoons and surf breaks of French Polynesia.

Charter catamarans as most people know them are large, luxurious, have lots of bathrooms and are usually better known for their abundant creature comforts then their sailing abilities. Such charter catamarans tend to be expensive too which in many cases means that people can either not afford to charter a cat at all or that they have to, by necessity, share one with others in order to offset the costs.
Smallish cats, suitable for just a couple with or without one or two children are actually very rare on the market, this is where 'Taboo' the Tiki 30 is unique. They are quick , yet immensely safe and stable and we don't think there is any multihull, which is easier to sail then this one. The Tiki 30's ease of handling and shallow draught make her the perfect yacht to explore any of the 130 islands, anchorages, reefs and atolls of French Polynesia in perfect safety.
Taboo is perfect for;
  • Surf trips for 4 friends on a budget who want an amazing sailing and surfing holiday giving the closest accomodation to the wave and access to all of them.
  • Couple who want to sail on a romantic cruise through the tiny un inhabited islands and blue lagoons, snorkeling, visiting pearl farms and watching perfect sunsets.
  • Small family who want a cool little boat to sail together on enjoying and exploring all the pleasures and hidden secret treasures of polynesia.
  • Crew with time off and want a boat to play around with on the weekend. Or as a liveboard while looking for work at Marina Taina.
  • Parties  sunday sand bar
  • Trips skippered sunset cruises, and whale watching.
  • Liveaboard as an appartment on the water for $1500 a month (boat will not be allowed out of the lagoon and sails will be removed).
